Nolke Opticians provides the following VDU screening services for corporate employers wishing to fulfil their legal health and safety obligations for staff working on visual display units in the work place.
FEE’S CHARGED SIGHT TEST Comprehensive Sight test €20.00
(Normal private price €27.50)
SPECTACLE ALLOWANCE Single vision spectacles €45.00
Bifocal spectacles €85.00
Varifocal spectacles €85.00
On advice from the Association of Optometrist the above pricing represents:
• Corporate rate sight test to be paid by the employer.
• Spectacle allowance to be paid by the employer is equal to that paid by individual PRSI entitlement for either single vision or bifocal / varifocal spectacles. The decision as to which type of spectacle is prescribed will be patient prescription / visual requirement based.
The above rates are the minimum allowance – increased at the employer’s discression.
Should the employee wish to purchase spectacles over and above the above allowance the balance is paid by the employee.
