Nolke Opticians is an independantly owned optometric practice situated next door to the Uluru Bar and restaurant on the Cove roundabout on the Dunmore Rd Waterford.  See Map.
We have a second practice in Tramore which opened Sept 2007. Our Optometrist Mary Counihan F.A.O.I. works mainly in Tramore and now covers for Kjell who can finally get the odd day off in Ardkeen! Hurray !!!!!!
Kjell Nolke
Kjell Nolke the Optometrist owner, qualified in 1993 in Dublin and after Twelve years working in Killarney, London, Australia New Zealand and Southampton Southern England is delighted to return home to Ireland to set up this new practice.

Our contact lens ranges are non restrictive - if there is a specialist lens you need - we can get it.

Kjells interests include
Surfing, Skiing, Swimming, all water sports really!
Mostly spending time with family and friends when
doing the above is when he is happiest.
In Optics Kjell prides himself in his new practice and
loves the new name on the door. Ardkeen Opticians
was a safe start but Nolke Opticians is finally a
definitive name on the door. He prides himself on
offering patients an eye care service second to none
and a practice experience to remember.
 Yvonne Nolke Reception and administrator and co owner
Yvonne is also a highly qualified registered nurse. Her
nursing interests include paediatriac & neonatal
intensive care. Yvonne is also adult trained.
She works occasional shifts in Waterford Regional
hospital.
When she is not working in the practice or in WRH
Yvonne is fulltime Mom to Ewan and Katie. No small
tasks there!
 Mary Counihan Optometrist (Qualified Dublin DIT 2006)
F.A.O.I.
Mary works mostly in the Tramore practice
and covers for Kjells time off in Ardkeen. If we were to
sum Mary up it would be that she has developed the
Tramore Practice into a successful small town practice
having built both a friendly and trustworthy relationship
with her patient base there.
Mary has a keen interest in contact lens fitting as well
as dispensing. She loves to see the finished
spectacles on a happy face!
Ailis Barry Practice Manager Tramore and administrator,
Optical assistant, Lab technician
Ailis has a degree in Human resources HR and has
been with Nolke Opticians since the very beginnig in
2004. She's the one to ask when Kjell can't find
anything!
Karen Carey Practice Manager Ardkeen and administrator,
Optical assistant, Lab technician
Karen is also a qualified nurse. Karen is an excellent
frame advisor with a keen eye for fashion. If you want to
look good in a frame, you would do well to ask her. Be
wary of the negative reply though! It might be a lovely frame
- but maybe just not on you!
